I am on ebay and internet marketing guru, Jim Cockrum’s, mailing list and have been looking into his membership site about offering online marketing services to off-line local company’s.

After doing internet marketing for a few years I have learned an entirely new craft since marketing my business online, and I save loads in advertising cost; not only that…I am seriously considering adding the advertising for off-line businesses stream of income to my portfolio, getting it running…and then hiring others to run it for me…with that as a backdrop here is my point…

A couple of days ago I received an email from internet markerter Colleen Slater(I am on her mailing list) with regard to free PPC WEB SPY.

It basically allows you to see what the profitable keywords are that your competitors are using in Adwords(the free version allows you to see 10–the upgrade about 100). It allows you to type in any keyword in Google and then click on any add and see the advertisers average position, average cost per click, max cost per click, number of daily clicks, and his or her cost per day…

This is invaluable information for pay per click, but also for organic search!

Some 47.6% of search engine users say that they click on organic listings of consumer research sites first, with an additional 18.7% giving their first clicks to organic listings of generic buying sites.

Only about 23% of people choose to click on some type of sponsored link before an organic one.

So I did a little test…I took a newspaper that we receive about twice per week with local business advertisers throughout, and chose a local business…used the PPC Web Spy Software and found one business,(research seems to indicate it may be an affiliate) that is getting 1997.5 average daily clicks.

What are they spending per day on average? …$592.00—their average cost per click is 26 cents, and their max cost per click is 63 cents.

So on average they are paying about $4144.00 per week for adwords advertising alone;that is about 16,576.00 per month average! *What is cool about the software is that it only shows results of those advertisers that have been running the ads for at least 45 days,a good indicator that they are making money from the chosen keywords*

Now after taking those keywords I ran them through Market Samurai to determine the organic search traffic from those terms as well as the competition…and the online commercial intent….

Now my further research shows that this business is no where to be seen in the organic search of google…this is where I would come in…I think I could slash there advertising budget by thousands, just by getting them in the organic search results…using the very keywords that are apparently already making them money in adwords…Combine this with the ability of Firepow and one could do very well…

What if they turn me down? Well I will offer there competitors the same service….
